FAQ

Solar energy is the conversion of radiant light from the Sun into usable forms of energy. To capture solar energy, we use solar panels made of special materials called semiconductors. When sunlight reaches the Earth’s surface, the solar panels absorb the light. The electricity produced by the solar panels is in a form called direct current (DC), which is then converted into alternating current (AC) electricity by a device called an inverter. This is the kind of electricity used in our homes and businesses.
Switching to solar power offers lower electricity bills, protection from fluctuating energy prices, and increased property value. Solar panels are a renewable, long-lasting energy source with minimal maintenance, and you can also benefit from tax deductions and incentives.
Solar panels typically have a lifespan of 25 to 30 years. They are designed to be durable and require minimal maintenance, ensuring reliable performance over their lifetime.
The cost of installing a solar power system varies based on the type and capacity. Our grid-tied systems start at Rs 85,000 for a 1.5 kW system capacity and allow you to sell all produced electricity to the grid for a yearly cash back. Off-grid and hybrid systems, which let you produce and consume your own electricity, start at Rs 350,000. Since our systems are tailor-made, we offer a FREE personalized on-site analysis. For more details, please contact us on 4603020.
Yes, solar panels can generate electricity on cloudy days, though their efficiency is reduced compared to sunny conditions. They still capture and convert available sunlight into energy, making them a reliable option even when the weather isn’t clear.
While direct sunlight is ideal for maximum efficiency, solar panels can still generate electricity in indirect or diffused sunlight. They work effectively even on cloudy days, though their output may be lower compared to full sun conditions.
To determine if your roof is suitable for solar panel installation, several factors are considered, including the roof’s orientation, angle, size, and structural condition. A FREE personalized on-site analysis by our solar representatives can assess these factors and help ensure your roof meets the requirements for an efficient solar power system. Contact us on the 460 3020.
The space required for solar panel installation depends on the size of the system and the amount of energy you want to generate. A minimum of 15m2 is required for our smallest kit. Our solar representatives can provide a detailed assessment based on your specific energy needs and available space.

Yes, there are several incentives available, including tax deductions that allow you to deduct 100% of your investment from your income tax return. Additionally, DBM offers financing up to Rs 250,000 at just 2% interest, and green loans are available through various banks.

Yes, installing solar panels can increase the value of your property. Many buyers view solar installations as a valuable asset due to the potential for reduced energy bills and environmental benefits.
Yes, you can. We offer an EV scheme with the CEB that provides preferential rates for charging your hybrid plug-in or 100% electric car using solar power.
Solar panels require minimal maintenance. Regularly cleaning the panels and ensuring they are free of debris will help maintain their efficiency. It’s also a good idea to have them inspected periodically to check for any damage or issues. Even though it’s low in maintenance, we recommend that a maintenance is done at least once a year or once every two years. You can also opt for a maintenance packages with Reneworld. For more information you can contact our After Sales Dept on the 460 3040.
Yes, you can sell all produced solar power to the grid through the SSDG scheme and the EV Charging scheme. With these programs, the CEB allows you to export electricity to the grid, and you’ll sign a 20-year contract for this arrangement.
On average, it takes between 5 to 6.5 years to recover the cost of installing a solar power system. For a tailored proposal and a pre-analysis, please contact our solar representatives at 4603020.
Yes, financing options are available. DBM offers financing up to Rs 250,000 at an interest rate of 2%. Additionally, green loans, housing loans, and personal funding options are also available to support your solar power installation.
Hybrid and off-grid solar systems provide autonomy and will continue to work during a power outage. However, grid-tied systems, such as SSDG and EV Charging, will not operate during an outage for safety reasons. In such cases, we recommend having a backup generator to ensure a continuous power supply.
The grid tied systems are limited in the production by the inverter. On the other hand, in hybrid and off-grid systems, if your batteries are full and you don’t need more power, the system will automatically reduce the panels’ output to avoid excess. If your energy needs change, we can help upgrade your system. Contact our solar representative for more details.
Yes, you can take your solar panels with you. For grid-tied systems, you’ll need to inform the CEB to arrange a new connection at your new address. Just give us a call for assistance with the process.
Yes, solar panels are environmentally friendly. Solar energy is a renewable power source that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and helps combat climate change, protecting humans, wildlife, and ecosystems. It also improves air quality, decreases water use, and reduces reliance on fossil fuels. Additionally, Reneworld partners with PV CYCLE, a non-profit organization that recycles photovoltaic (PV) solar panels , lithium batteries to ensure their responsible disposal.
To choose the right solar power system, consider your goals. Do you want to save on your bills, or produce and consume your own electricity? Provide us with details about your current CEB bills, location, and contact information, and our solar representative will assist you. Alternatively, you can call us at 460 3020, and we will be happy to help.
